The "Old Folk" Concert ... Back Home

An evening of fine music - Maybe :)

On July 24th, 2007 - I become 60 years old.

I will be playing a concert at the Park Theatre in Winnipeg to celebrate this momentous event.

The "Park" is a fantastic place. The theatre was built in 1914 - which makes it older than me - and is currently being run by Erick & Melanie as a video theatre, cafe, and live music forum for the Manitoba area. The stage reminds me of my old "coffee house" days and I fell in love with it at first sight. A concert performance was a must have.

Marita - bless her soul - rented the hall for me as a birthday present and the performance is on. I intend to sit for 3 hours and play my old folk/blues/country tunes until my fingers fall off or my voice fails.

Check out the poster - I am the old guy  :))

The concert is on Tuesday, July 24th, 2007. The theatre holds about 225 people and has the most comfortable seats anywhere. Most seats have a table in front where you can enjoy drinks and snacks or some of the best pizza in Canada.

The evening starts at 7:00 pm and ends at 10:00 pm.  Drop-ins are more than welcome - I do not expect a "captive" audience :)

There is no entry fee but we will take up a voluntary collection. Half the money will help pay the hall rental, the other half will be donated to Variety - The children's charity.

I will be putting new strings on my old Guild twelve string. It is going to sound as sweet as a bank's error in your favor :))
